Two of My Favorite Cathedral Churches in New York

Even though I am not a Catholic, I do appreciate the unique characteristics of Gothic architecture and cathedral churches. These are two of my favorite cathedral churches in New York. The photos were taken in June.

St. Patrick's Cathedral is a decorated Neo-Gothic-style Catholic cathedral which was built in 1858 and completed in 1878. Located on the east side of Fifth Ave. btw 50th and 51st St. in midtown Manhattan.

Cathedral of Saint John the Divine was designed in 1888 and built in 1892. Located at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue btw W 110th St. in Manhattan. It is claimed to be the largest Cathedral and Anglican church, and fourth largest Christian church in the world according to Wikipedia.

"Somewhere Over The Rainbow" by Judy Garland

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?
Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?

εΎŒι™’ι‡Žε…” Wild Rabbit in My Backyard

Believe or Not! I accidently found a wild rabbit in my backyard this evening after coming home from the coffee shop. He (or she???) was hiding in rose bushes. I then ran into the house promptly and grasped the digital camera. I was extremely careful, patient and cautious to approach the rabbit for the best angle to shoot. I held my breath and moved my feet inch by inch, but at the same time I didn't want to scare him away. All I have to say is this rabbit was very friendly. He seemed he can perceive that I'm a good photographer. Nevertheless, I do think I did a great job of taking these pictures. Well, I guess from now on I might work for the National Geographic...hehe, who knows?
